    History lesson for you:

When the founders of the country created this Republic, they strived for a system that was free of tyranny.  Thus, no one man would lead the country through great spans of time.  That's why there are elections.  It was thought that, a teacher, a blacksmith or even a community organizer could run for office if they felt that the voice of the people were not being heard.  Once they were done their public service, they would go back to their original profession.  It was never supposed to be that an elected official could stay in power for decades and make a life long career out of it.

It was always thought that each person had their own views and if their views fell out of favor with the public, they would be voted out and replaced.  Now, many politicians stay in office for decades and just change their views to fit popular opinion.  That's why they say the system is broken.

Obama was able to defeat Hilary Clinton in the primaries b/c she was bought and paid for.  Most of her donors were large contributors (over $5,000 donations), while Obama obtained an unprecedented amount of smaller contributors.  Hilary was backed by special interests and Obama was backed by the people.

People like Obama b/c like Palin he is not part of the belt way corruption.  He comes with fresh ideas and was not sent to the Navel Academy b/c of who his father was.

Any Candidate can say anything to get elected and McCain has been cunning enough to say the right things for 26 years and get elected over and over again.  Now he's the candidate of change??

  5. Years in State and US Senate

Senate Committees for Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works and Veterans' Affairs. Chairman of the Senate's subcommittee on European Affairs. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, and more.

Sponsored over 800 bills to reform healthcare, ethics in washington, veterans benefits and more. Passed a bill that expanded healthcare to over 100,000 people in Illinois.. Passed a bill that set up community health centers to serve underserved populations. Passed a bill that provided the earned income tax credit to thousands of Illinois families. Passed a bill reforming the death penalty that had sent innocent people to death row. Passed a major ethics reform bill that banned excessive gifts from lobbysts. Co-sponsored a bill to mandate regular inspections of Veterans hospitals like Walter Reid.

he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.
