Question:

Can anyone name this type of jellyfish?

It is a sort of flower shape, and it is completely clear, except for a ipink strip through the middle. IT has two pink tentacles. I have tried looking on numerous websites, but can't find anything. There are hundreds of them on a beach in south east england, where it is relatively warm.

  2. It sounds like it could be a Bluefire, aka Blue Jellyfish (latin name Cyanea lamarckii).

    It's quite flowery in shape and I've provided a link of a photo of one.

    (Note about moon jellyfish - they can get to about 18 inches across - we get lots of them trapped in the docks where I live though I doubt that's what yours is.)
