Hi

I'm wanting to purchase a laptop but know nothing about computers and honestly don't know where to start - there is so much choice!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like a laptop that is small and light - preferably 12" - 13" screen

It will be used for my studies - so I'll only need it to access research papers, prepare presentations and also to use excel and type up my work - oh, and watch the odd movie.

where do I start! - any suggestions?

thank you :)

  1. Ok go for Dell XPS M1330. full of features and fits ur budget too.

  2. I recently bought an HP Pavilion Entertainment Portable PC. It has a screen that can be swiveled to be converted to a touch screen, and it's great for movie watching. The screen is 13 inches and it's really light. The only downside is that it heats up easily. (A nice vent fan would do the trick). I bought mine (after a little bargain hunting) for $800. A few weeks later a friend got the same one for about a hundred less. So I think you should probably consider it. Obviously, get some other opinions about other brands as well.
