Hi. My son who is 2.5 months old take little cat naps during the day. Nothing really extensive. He will have a bottle at 5:00 pm, go to sleep at 7:00 pm and often sleep until 5:00 am without eating again. It seems like 12 hours is a long time for him to not eat, but he doesnt wake up so I don't wake him. During the day he eats fine and he is getting enough formula, but should I be concerned that he is going for such a long stretch at night?

  1. As long as he is eating well during the day and gaining weight, I wouldn't worry.  He will let you know when he gets hungry.  Remember, you can always check with his doctor.  It's very reassuring to hear them tell you everything is fine.

  2. No he is fine.  Be thankful he sleeps that long! He is getting old enough where he can be fine sleeping that long.  They tell you not to wake them up.  He will let you know when he is hungry.  I couldn't wait for my son to sleep through the night! He just now started a little over 3 months.

  3. If it doesn't bother him, then yes he is fine! You're lucky he sleeps that long right now...

  4. As long as he is getting enough formula during the time he is awake, then he should be fine to go through the night without feeds. You are one of the lucky moms who has a very good sleeper. As long as he is gaining weight and still has between 6-10 wet diapers a day, then all is perfect.

  5. I think that is normal.  He is just getting into a routine (and it sounds like a pretty good one).  But if he is truly hungry, he will let you know, no matter what time of day or night it is.  But as long as he seems fine (eating good during the day and being a happy normal baby) then he is fine.  But I completely understand your concern, I went through the same thing with my daughter!
