Can anyone please explain to me the ending of the movie The Shining(not the made for tv one)?

I think what it means is that since the dad went crazy, he got put into the picture, and since there have been many people who have gone crazy, time repeats itself.

The picture includes Jack meaning that he was alive and at the hotel whenever that picture was taken (in the 20's or something wasn't if?) Anyhow it means Jack is being reincarnated and returning to the hotel which possesses him and leads him to kill his family... at least that's what I got out of it.
