Can anyone please help with some economics questions?

Question

-why is portfolio investment the most common type of foreign investment?

-into which industries does most foreign investment flow?

-asses the arguments for and against a high level of foreign investment?

-what advantages does direct investment have over portfolio investment? are there any disadvantages?

Great questions I would love to answer. I am in the  middle of work at the moment but if I get the time I would love to come back and tackle these questions. But in a nutshell foriegn investment flows back into big business and eventually to the government in the form of taxation and fees etc. In the mean time try to google some of these questions and terminology. It's actually not complex stuff but very interesting.
