  1. If you can then you would deserve a Field's Medal!

  2. hmm...

Only if that x doesn't mean "multiply", but an operation..

    So, let x= (+1+)

    Then, 2x2=2+1+2=5..

    ^^

  3. I.  Let A + B = C:   A + B = C

    II.  Multiply both sides by 5:  5(A+B) = 5C

    III.  Distribute:  5A + 5B = 5C

IV.  Switch the left and right side (symmetrical property of equality):  5C = 5A + 5B

V:  multiply both sides of the equation from step I by 4:  4(A+B) = 4C

    VI:  distribute:  4A + 4B = 4C

VII:  add the equations from IV and VI together:  (5C)+(4A+4B)=(5A+5B)+(4C)

VIII:  Get rid of the parenthesis and organize the terms:  4A+4B+5C=5A+5B+4C

IX:  subtract 9C from both sides:  4A+4B-4C=5A+5B-5C

    X:  Factor both sides:  4(A+B-C)=5(A+B-C)

XI:  Divide both sides by (A+B-C): 4=5

XII:  Since 2x2=4, we can substitute 2x2 for 4 in the equation from step XI: 2x2=5

    QED!

  4. well you could always start your own language and swap the 4 and 5 around, that will work

  5. yeeah of course i can......

    simple...

    still very simple

    By Mistake....ha ha haa lol.

  6. Amy, step XI is wrong. You cant divide by zero.

I know you knew that but still, good answer.

  7. Nothing's impossible, yes, but this is just awkward ...

  8. i don`t think any one can. coz the product was 4, is 4 and will be 4.
