Does anyone know any good Brazilian music (lively, as in LIVELY) that is NOT novelty or modern. We need rather authentic and cultural music. It's kinda hard to find. Can you please help me?

  1. What do you mean by authentic and cultural ? I mean, we do have modern, but no being "pop like" music, therefore 100% authentic. So, can you please be more specific :-) ? If you mean "folklore" like music, it's probably hard to find. If you are looking for "MPB" (Brazilian Popular Music), which includes artists like Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Elis Regina, etc and also the more modern ones, like Marisa Monte, Djavan, etc, then I can provide you something. Check out the link  below with more info about MPB.

I can provide you some. Check my email in my profile.

    ---- EDIT ----

Just reminded that if you want something less known, but really authentic, you should try some "Chorinho". It's the "Brazilian jazz", and mostly instrumental. Beautiful stuff.

  2. You can look for MPB like Paulo said. There's a lot of popular songs that are good. Here in this site - http://www.4shared.com/ - you can find tons.

Try Ana Carolina, Ivete Sangalo, those that Paulo mentioned are pretty good singers too. If you want I have a CD with Brazilian Music that I got from a international conference that the place I work at gave to the ones who attempted, it's somewhere in my house, I don't know where, lol.

I can look for it and rip it into MP3 files for you, just contact me if you really want it.
