Can anyone quote for me where in the Bible by Chapter and Verse in Context?

Where does it state that when we die our souls remain in the body untill Judgement day?

Probably the closest thing to a 'proof text' is 1 Thess. 4:15-16, which says that the dead in Christ sleep until judgment.  This text is quite clear.  Unfortunately, other texts, such as the promise of Jesus to the thief on the cross to see him 'this day' in Paradise, imply something different just as clearly.  A resolution is that there is no 'time' in eternity.
