  2. we stayed near spoleto, in umbria, but the company we used to book our apartment/villa was wonderful to work with.  http://www.villavacations.com  they had a lot of options and their description of each place was accurate.  we really enjoyed where we stayed and the host family was super nice and helpful.  check it out and see if they have something you might be interested in, they have places all over the country.

  3. My favourite movie with Diane Lane..."Under the Tuscan Sun"!!!! :~)

Here's a few sites to get you started at what you might find there:

  4. We met a guy in Rome who invited us to stay with his family in Tuscany--a little town called Chiusi Chianchiano. It was absolutely FABULOUS. The villas there are amazing, and there are several that have pools--otherwise a great place to go is to the local club that has a big outdoor pool and is where the actual residents spend their hot days.

I do not remember the exact name of the Villa we stayed at, which, btw, had THE BEST food I HAVE EVER EVER EVER eaten in my life...but, follow this website for your own adventure:
