  1. Any of the doctors at Fort Bend OB/Gyn are wonderful- their office is on Sweetwater, near 59 and Methodist hospital.  It's a busy practice, but they are knowledgeable and work well together.  You'll have one doctor but get to know them all, so if there's a different one on call it's not like you'll be freaking out when a stranger walks in.  Dr. Le delivered both of my children, but I've visited all the doctors in the practice.

  2. I have had 5 children delivered by the same OB/GYN through Southwest OB/GYN Associates. He is a male OB/GYN but there are several others in the same practice that are just as wonderful if you prefer a woman (I have been seen by a few others in his practice due to emergency visits and I have many friends/family that see different Dr.'s there and can say the same wonderful things). It's a pretty big practice and the nurses are wonderful (as you know the nurses do just as much work as the Dr.).

They have 3 locations in the professional buildings of Memorial Hermann Southwest, Sugar Land Methodist & Memorial Hermann Sugar Land (off Grand Parkway). My Dr. had consistant days that he was at the different location but wherever it's convenient for you, you can always make your appt. at either locations. You also have the option to deliver at any of those locations.

I would recommend my Dr. as I haven't had any problems, confrontation, or bad service. Always quick to answers after-hours calls and shows concern for your well being (not like other Dr.'s who come in to see you just to get paid). He is very conservative and professional but straight forward as far as medical concern. He has had the same nurse ever since I've been going there for the last 10 years. She is the best nurse you could ask for and a great OB/GYN. A great team all in all. That is all in my opinion. You should consider asking friends / family / co-workers as their opinion may be more in relation to your needs.

E-mail me (katie0127) if you would like his name; otherwise here is the website http://www.swobgyn.com/.

    Good Luck!

  3. I dont live in Texas but I can tell you that if you call the ob/gyn dept. in the hospital that you will be going to then they can give you a list of male or female DR. that you can see. You dont have to have the first one you pick. The first apt.that you make is just an intoduction and to get some family history from you. If you dont like that DR. then ask to see another!

  4. do you not already have a gynecologist? if you don't, you should ask friends or family members who they use, get recommendations. generally people like their doctors because.... if they don't they change. also you need to think about things related to your pregnancy and birth. do you want to have a c-section or do you want to have a vaginal birth? do you want a medicated vaginal birth or do you want to have natural childbirth?  some doctors have higher c-section and induction rates than others which in my opinion leads to more complications.

you should read the book "the thinking woman's guide to a better birth" and then make a list of questions to ask any prospective doctors. also remember that you don't have to go to the first doctor you see, if you aren't satisfied or don't really feel a good vibe, move on.
