We are a family of six and would like one last great vacation before our oldest daughter starts college next fall. After that, there will be to many activities in the summer to let us have long vacations together. Would greatly appreciate input.

  1. Disney

  2. My husband and I cruised on Carnival many times, and took our sons just as they were about to graduate high school.  We got cabins across the hall from each other (we had the window!), and we all had a great time too!  Carnival also has lots of activities for kids (young - we saw them as pirates on a scavenger hunt; as well as teens.)  Carnival is geared more towards young adults (20's - 30's) and my husband and I don't fit their profile any longer (we just don't like the music, entertainment, plus we've both cruised with them 6+ times, we know all the activities by heart, so we're going to try somebody else.)

It's funny, but I was just looking at cruises for Spring Break... and we're thinking of NCL or Royal Caribbean (they have rock climbing, and some of the ships have ice skating!!).

We just got back from Holland America - Alaska.  Oh MY GOSH!!  The trip was great, but we're a bit young for the Holland America crowd... so you might not want to consider them... or Celebrity... older, more sedate!

    Cruises are WONDERFUL!! Enjoy!

  3. tinkertoy......took my answer......freedom is the best choice for older kids.....they will love it and so wont u.......good luck

  4. I recommend Royal Caribbean and their new ship the Freedom of the Seas.  We just did that ship's Western Caribbean itinerary and the ship was great.  It has something for everyone.  It has a pool area especially for young kids and a new feature called the FLO-RIDER where you can go surfing on the ship.  It has a Rock climbing wall, full sized basketball court, ice skating rink, mini-golf, and a pool area for adults only.

There is great entertainment on ship and besides the stops we had in Montego Bay, Cozumel and Gran Caymon, we stopped at the NCL private island called Labadee.  That place is awesome and has activities for everyone including wave runners, parasailing, snorkeling, and a huge number of beaches.  The island is so large that they have a free tram to carry you from one area to the other.

    That's my recommendation.

  5. Carnival and Princess cruises are good.   You can try NCL too, but I heard they are not a very good company.
