I don't want to be kept awake at night with one that functions noisily, as I have 3 at home already and are too loud.

  1. try PELONIS ceramic heater. small , quiet, very economical.

  2. Hi Poopsy, here is Uncle Clive's philosophy of warmth:

While fan heaters are fine for warming a room quickly for temporary use (eg a bathroom), I find them unsuitable for long term use. As well as the noise, I find they dry the air and stir up any dust that the vacuum has missed. My preference is for oil filled electric radiators that provide warmth with minimal disturbance.

  5. Poopsy I would say check out Home Dept.or Low es but you don't have any there. Maybe a Wal-Mart. How much noise is to much. The oil heaters are quiet but how much heat do you need and how much space. Several types on the market. If it is fan forced air. then it could be to loud for you. It all depends on you. I like the GE brand heaters.
