Can anyone recommend a good, concise introductory text on Anthropology?

I know concise and introductory are probably a little unrealistic - a series of books would do. Thanks

  1. GO TO THE NEAREST COLLEGE CAMPUS BOOKSTORE AND GET THEIR INTRO TEXT ... IT SHOULD BE A GOOD PRIMER!

  2. Start with "The Invention of Culture" by Roy Wagner.  It's a great intro.

  3. It might be a little too simplistic, but how about "Manwatching", by Desmond Morris? It got me into anthropology as a young man.

  4. Marvin Harris writes for the masses, with the exception of his "History of Anthropological Thought."  Definitely not light ready.
