Can anyone recommend a good PS2 RPG game?

Question

i like something like ffseries with awesome graphics and long game play hours to kill time. already played ffx and ffxii(twice already). i'm not really fond of randomized battle system(like ffx), but if graphics and storyline can cover-up for that, then i guess its ok. i'm a bit frustrated about castlevania coz its a bit short. i'll hit gamestop later, so you guys have any suggestions?

Star Ocean 3 Til the End of Time is the game you're looking for if you liked the FF games. You might also want to try Xenosaga and Kingdom Hearts.

um, these are not RPGs.

I highly recommend the Shadow Hearts series, especially the second one.  Shadow Hearts is sort of a gothic fantasy RPG series, the time is set in the past, I think WW1 or WW2, and the story is based on a lot of made up demonology stuff, it really feels like a more mature and grown up RPG series.  Shadow Hearts also uses a very cool battle system where you have to time button presses to maximize your attacks and moves.  It's a step up in terms of challenge compared to the classic pick-from-the-menu-and-you're-done gameplay style and feel refreshing.  Shadow Hearts: Covenant also has hot female characters in it, haha.
