Mississippi Mud: How is he supposed to figure things out for himself if he is never presented with the facts?

Bryan: Sorry, I'm going to need something with small words and lots of colorful pictures.

melissaah!: If he were my child I wouldn't need the book!

Rio: Yes he will be introduced to other concepts as well, but it's just so hard to find a book on this topic written at a second grade reading level!

Your Holiness (formerly known at ~ Not Snizz ~): I am speechless in your presence! May I kiss your ring?

  1. the golden compass

  2. I don't know any books on atheism.  I think that for the communion gift, it isn't an appropriate time to give a book on atheism, but i think that it is ok to give him a book on it at another time.

  3. LOL. Nice.

  4. Eragon

  5. Yes but you'll need to read it and explain the facts to him. This book is HARD to find but you can get a copy.

    It is called :

    "The bone peddlers:selling evolution",

By Wm. R. Fix. He is not a creationist, but tells many facts you will not hear in the class room of any College or University.

  6. i have autism.. and I read ...believe in your self ..its a great book about autism

  7. the bible lol.

  8. just let them make there own mind up im no religion but was brought up beliving in heven its a bit sad to tell them at the end it nothing and thay wont see anybody again, i think evryone is bright enught to see religion is all about power and money abuse

  9. www.leaderru.com   is a site for children on atheism.

  10. ... yes ... "The Children's Book Of Atheism" ... it's a must-read for all 7 year olds ...

  11. Religion -- the path straight to h**l!!

Or the road to redemption, ATHEISM!!!

  12. That was a rude comment by the other guy abouve me, but some good advice is to ask your lopcal librarian, she will gladly tell you

  13. Chris Hitchens: God is not Great. If he is a brilliant 7 year old, he might like it.

I am an atheist, but I do not support brainwashing your kids into believing what you do. Be it belief in god, or lack their of. Wait for him to ask, and tell him "What I think is this........and why" But tell him he can make his own descion.

  14. there is no such thing as a good book on that subject there is only one" good" book the bible

  15. wow what the h**l is wrong with you let the kid figure stuff out for himself

  16. A 7 year old? oh dear.  I know your concerns and wanting to keep the child's mind rational and not all into all this religious hoopla but a BOOK for a 7 year old about a serious topic? I don't know about that.  They won't understand at 7.

  17. believe in something

  18. The King James version of the Holy Bible. It contains God's word and the only information you will ever need about atheism.

  19. I feel sorry for the unbelievers.

And I feel even more sympathy for the children of them.

  20. You made a comment that if he were your child you wouldn't need the book.  Since this isn't your child, you don't need to be giving a book on your view, it is up to his parents.  Their beliefs are none of your business!  Glad you're no where near my kid!

  21. Shouldn't you be introducing all books to a person especially a child and let them decide for themselves what religion to believe? If you only introduce one thing and withhold the others, isn't it called "controlling". We all have our own beliefs and opinions and we could only guide, especially children, young minds to respect and do good deeds to other no matter what age, gender, race or religion the others are.

  22. It's called the NKJ Bible

  23. What sort of book did you read at seven that made you feel that a seven year old needs a book like this?   Did someone p**s in your cornflakes at Sunday School when you were seven?

  24. the tree of life-the wonders of evolution-ellen jackson

    what about gods? chris brockman

humanism for kids-devin and damien lloyd

how do you know it's true? hy rucklis

    those are good choices...

  25. The B-I-B-L-E.  It tells the truth.

  26. I think to do this is unwise.  The human brain is programmed in certain ways.  Children at that age do not have critical thinking skills.  The concept is too difficult for them to understand.

  27. Do you really think you should start that early? Don't you want your child to experience the joy and wonder of believing in things like the tooth fairy?

  28. A seven yr. old doesn't need a book on atheism, he/she is too young to understand the concepts of religion let alone having someone force the issue of atheism. Get a book of all religions and let them pick their own if any when they get older.
