Can anyone recommend a good fly repellent for my cat enclosure?

My cats live in an outdoor enclosure (fencing for fun in the sun, and a big wooden house for cozy protection from the elements). I keep it clean, but a BUNCH of flies are always swarming around their p**p area. Any recommendations?

  1. Cats are very sensitive to many insecticides that are ok for dogs and horses etc. Any kind of box or container that they defecate in outside should be changed out daily, that means dumping the litter, washing out the box and putting a small amount of litter back in the container. You don't have to fill it 3-4" deep, just a shallow amount as you are changing it daily. Other than that, I can't think of a better solution

  2.   Have you tried good old fashioned fly paper?  Also, try some kitty in the area, or a litter box, and clean it daily.  The litter will kill the smell.
