Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Aghios Nikolaos?

No but wouldn't recommend you holiday here as I went with friends and was very dull.Also a lot of building work being undertaken.

Which Aghios Nikolaos?

I am assuming you mean Crete as that is the most well known, but there are hundreds of places called Aghios Nikolaos in Greece (& some in Cyprus). Some of these lesser known ones are also featured in holiday brochures, add to your message to confirm.

I do know some places to stay in one Aghios Nikolaos, but it's not the one in Crete, so I will wait for your additional info!

In Ahious Nikolaos the Lato is a small hotel if you want 2 star style, but if you want something better the Hermes Hotel is a top class luxury hotel in Agios Nikolaos that overlooks the sea !

It is worth paying for a seaview room because the rooms with seaview are not much more expesnive ( perhaps US$15 ) more than the other rooms. It really is very good, I think about the best, nice views also at night
