  1. Los Angeles County is made up of many different cities. Most of these cities have hotels and I would suggest staying at a well known chain such as Marriott, or maybe Extended Stay America. Huge chains usually build hotels in safe city center, or business areas,or tourist areas. I recommend Residence Inn by Marriott or TownePlace Suites by Marriott because its not too expensivve, they are located all over Los Angeles County, you get free breakfast and friendly service. They even have evening social hour at some Residence Inns. They just built a new Residence Inn in Burbank, Its really nice and modern. Theres also Towneplace suites in Manhattan beach that is extended stay and close to shopping, restaurants, beaches etc.

    go to this website:

    http://www.marriott.com/search/refineSea...

thats a listing of ALL the extended stay hotels Marriott offers In CA.

you can select the cities you are intersted in and compare the rates/areas/ ammenities etc.

    Hope this helps!

  2. You can try http://www.hotelbooklet.com which compares more than 30 popular hotel reservations sites and shows the cheapest rates. There you can read guest reviews and find a hotel in Los Angeles that suits best for you.

  3. I can't answer for "safe"  - but when you work out good areas try this :

    http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com/United-...

Any area with 4 /5 star hotels is likely to be well managed and safe though
