Can anyone recommend a good pub in Manchester near the MEN arena?

I'm going to a gig in Manchester on the 15th of December and want to find a good pub that serves food near the Manchester Evening News Arena.

Those that answer this question, thank you in advance. If you could provide the address of the pub as well, it would be most appreciated.

Head for the printworks, across from the MEN, bars and restaraunts, some bars serve food.

Oh are you going to see the Beautiful South? I'm going next night to see the Pogues. It depends what sort of thing you like - Waxy O'Connor's is literally just over the road and it's nice and cosy in there - they do nice food too. Lloyds in the Printworks is nice and cheap - Norwegian Blue's pretty funky but not to my taste - I like something a bit more traditional. If you want a traditional Manchester pub, try the Pig and the Porcupine - it's a bit of a walk but well worth it - if you get a taxi down ask the driver to take you there.

Al the pubs apart form the Pig and Porcupine are in the Printworks - -you can't miss it - -it's litereally just over the road - -you didn't say how you were gettin there, but if you're going by train, it's left out of the station, and if you're getting a taxi, the driver will direct you. Pig's over the road from AMC cinema on Deansgate - just ask a passerby.

Isn't "Rovers" or "Roy's Rolls" in Manchester. Maybe you could tell Cilla HI at the "chippy's" ???

The Old Wellington is less than 5 minutes walk away from the arena and next to it is Sinclair's Oyster Bar, and both are known for being traditional-style pubs with lovely food (I've eaten at Sinclair's and it's very good, heard many good things about the Wellington's food too). The Wellington's address is 4 Cathedral Gates, Manchester, phone [phone]. Not got any contact details for Sinclair's but it is literally next door. Hope this helps.
