Can anyone recommend a good pub/restaurant in the Southampton area?

It's my son's 18th and taking a party of 9 relatives out for a meal. Thinking of either The Chestnut Horse at Easton or The White Star in Southampton. Looking for good food but not overly expensive. Thanks
