Can anyone recommend a good quality hotel in Amsterdam.?

I am looking to stay in Amsterdam for a long weekend to celebrate an anniversary, I would like to stay in a good quality hotel, any recommendations.

Although I don't have personal experience in visiting Amsterdam, I have arranged business travel for others who recently returned from staying at one of the Novotel properties.  I heard good reports on this hotel chain.  I believe there are two in the city (visit their website for more information: http://www.novotel.com/gb/reservation/li...  Golden Tulip is another property on which I have heard positive feedback.  You might try looking at reviewers comments on tripadvisor.com

The Singel Hotel is nice, about a 5 minute walk from the train station and close to everything. I stayed there and didn't have a problem walking everywhere and it was affordable as well. Try their website http://www.singelhotel.nl/
