Can anyone recommend a good restaurant or pub for a decent Mothers day lunch near Marlborough, Wilts?

Marlborough is in the UK - most UK users will have heard of it. And, no I don't think Marlboro' f**s (UK usage!) are anything to do with it!

I would think that all decent eating is fully booked, any place with vacancies must have a reason.  It would be a better thought to cook for your mother.

there used to be an excellent restaurant called toxique in Melksham but this was some years ago.  Worth the drive if it is still there.

Most good restaurants and pubs will be fully booked by now. Along with Valentine's Day, Mother's Day always packs places out. You'd be better off cooking a meal yourself, or maybe going out on Saturday evening - that's what we're planning to do, as we left it too late to book as well.
