Can anyone recommend a good sound system for a disco party being held in a ruritan building?

I would like a complete system if possible, like a home theatre system so I could use at home afterwards. I just don't know if the home theatres put out enough wattage for good party sound quality. Would be nice if it had an ipod connection - but if not - at least a 5 CD changer. Need to keep price range under $700 is possible. Thanks so much for any suggestions.

Don't try to do it yourself! Get a professional disco in and he will have a good choice of lights and sound options to suit all kinds of different venues and will rig it up accordingly.

You would just be guessing on what was needed and it's almost inevitable that you will get it wrong. And what suits a disco in terms of power, speaker size etc will not suit a home cinema system.

Believe me, it's by far the best option.
