can anyone recommend a good waterproof bicycling shoe cover or bootie? I am a new commuter and I want to prepare for riding the bike in the rain. Thanks

  1. Try Performance or Nashbar neoprene booties. If you go thru puddles & water comes up thru the cleat hole, do try plastic bags over your sox.


  2. Nike I believe has bike socks that are waterproof. Usually you have to cut out the bottom so your shoe can grab the pedal, but Ive heard they are pretty good, h**l Bike teams running the tour de france use them, must be good for something!

  3. i've tried everything from expensive neoprene booties to those plastic bags the put newspapers in.

    best deal is a pair of shimano sandals.  let them get wet.

    change shoes when you get to work (just keep a pair of nice shoes at work).

    in the winter, wear wool socks with your sandals and wiggle your toes. they'll stay warm.


  4. I rock some rain boots but i only ride 6 miles in them...
