Can anyone recommend a nice campsite in Bordeaux please?

We would like somewhere suitable for children but not too busy and loud. A simple 3 star campsite would be ideal. Many thanks in advance for any help.

While I've never been camping in the Bordeaux area, you can obtain the contact information for a number of campsites near Bordeaux by doing the following:

1. Go to the French Yellow pages website: http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/trouverlesprof...

2. Enter CAMPING where it says "Quoi, Qui".

3. Enter GIRONDE where it says "Où".

NOTE: The only one I found that seems to be within Bordeaux city limits is:

I am from Bordeaux and used to go camping a lot by the coast. A great place is a town called Carcan-Maubuisson ((30-40min on the coast from Bordeaux). I am actually going there this July in this camping site:

Another good town is Lacanau, surfers area, lots and lots of young people.

The area is amazing - non stop stretch of sand beaches, sand dunes, pine trees forest all around, lots & lots of outdoors activities (surf, biking, hiking etc) and night life is very goos as well.

Defenitely a place/area to go, good choice!
