Slug and Lettuce on Wardour street, is probably the best, although there are many olde England pubs on Dean Street.. either way, it is Central London

Amber on Poland Street has a happy hour which makes the drinks quite reasonable.  It is in the heart of Soho between Carnaby Street and Wardour Street

THERE are lots on side street pubs and bars in that area.

I like VERVE, it's next to the Leicester Square station, just after the corner. It's nice inside, good and relatively cheap drinks, and if you want to stay longer they open a kind of basement where you can buy drinks, dance and one more perfect thing, if you're earlier you can have really nice table downstairs for about 6-8 people.
