  6. You absolutely MUST go to this Thai restaurant, right in the centre of town (about 5 mins walk from the Arndale Centre)

    I have been there several times - I went several times in a row, it was that good!  It is renowned as the best restaurant in Manchester and has a national reputation as one of the best Thai restaurants in the UK.  There is a massive choice on the menu, it is gorgeous inside, with a huge bar area downstairs.  The staff are just fantastic, service is fast and faultless, and the food is incredible.

    With such a big menu choice the cost is up to you.

    You would have to be nuts to go anywhere else!!  One thing though - it is essential to book a table, even if there are just 2 of you, because this place is packed out even at 5pm (when it opens) every night!  Enjoy (I am jealous that you are getting the chance to go there!)

  7. Well Gravyman i reckon I may be able to help you here Geez! Just want to say that even if i couldnt, i would have had to post an answer simply because of the coolness of the name!

    Right I eat out all the time in Manchester and have done for the last 8-9 years.

    if you want my advice the City Centre is not really worth the risk unless you know it anally. Im going to give you just one recommendation but that really is all you re gonna need.  The place is called Fetish 4 Food and is located in Prestwich. If you dont know where this is it is about 3 1/2 miles to the North of the city and will cost  about 7-8 quid in a cab - maybe less! Regular buses go from Shudehill or Blackfriars every few minutes until about mid night if you want to save some doh. The 98 is the best bet pal.

    The reasons that i suggest this place are as follows;

    1 - i live in Prestwich and have worked in the restaurant last year. I know how good the food is there and i know how brilliant the head chef is there.

    2 - i have eaten there absolutely loads of times and i have never ever eaten or drunk anything in the place that was gobsmackingly amazing! Honestly the food is leagues and leagues above anything you will taste around Manchester and further a field i bet.

    Anyway just to let you know that it is not cheap. The food and wine is pretty much all organic and is sourced locally when this is possible. For the quality of food you will get you wont mind the price. To give you a rough idea of the cost I would say starters range between £5-6. Mains range between £10- 16 and a dessert around 5 quid. Work it out from there!

    If you go ENJOY GravyBoy!
