Can anyone recommend a resaurant in downtown Milwaukee? I'm looking for something that's reasonably priced.

I want to find a resaurant that not many people know about, and that won't ring up a huge bill. Something more on the quiet side would be good, but it doesn't have to be. The usual recommendation are out of the question, such as: La Perla, Mo's, chophouse, etc. Thanks for the help!

  1. Try checking www.restaurant.com.  Put in Milwaukee area and there will be a lot of places that come up.  If you want to purchase a coupon they are very reasonable and many times you get a $25.00 coupon for $5.00.  Sometimes more sometimes less, depends on the discount they are offering.  But you always will save money using the coupons. Some of the higher priced places offer $100.00 coupons but most of them are $25.00.

    Hope you find something.

  2. I dont care for La Perla, and when I am back in town we usually go to our old favorite college haunts.

but if you want something nice and a little different, you can always go to the east side / boarder of downtown to County Claire Irish Pub and Inn on Astor Street

Here are some others:   King and Thai on Old Third World  , Buccas on Van Burean and Juneau, 311 on Wisconsin, Christophers on Astor is  good and had a whole Sapronos feel to it the last time I was there, karl Ratzchs on Mason Str, the Safe House is a ton of fun, but can be noisy, I have always liked Water Street Brewery too, Elsas on the Park (jefferson street), Louise's Tratoria also on jeffereson, and Maders (very german food, tie required)

  3. This is the Chicago section. What makes people think that Chicagoans know anything about the land of Cheese.  My suggestion would be McDonald's, based on the fact the I never go up there and the fact the McD's are everywhere. Enjoy.

  4. Not exactly downtown, but Barnacle Bud's is pretty good bar food.  If you decide to go there, don't let the strange entrance throw you off.  (http://www.barnacle-buds.com/)

And ooh!  There's the China Gourmet.  Yum.  http://www.china-gourmet.com/

  5. all you will do is looking on local yellow book

  6. Try Mazo's Fine Foods  on 3146  27th street it is a smaller restaurant with great hamburgers, it is fresh and has a very friendly staff. Or try Tess on  N. Bartlett they have a covered outside patio which is always great for the summer in Milwakee!! But if your going to Wisconsin you have to have a Brat from somewhere!!!
