  1. As other readers say, it depends on what you want. From chain restaurants to nicer more expensive place. I like Zizzis (a chain) but good Italian food and in the centre of Brighton if location is important.

Harrys in Hove is another good restaurant but further out of Brighton (probably somewhere before you start drinking)

La Forchette (more expensvie) has had very good reviews, walking distance into Brighton Centre for bars and clubs.

Obviously for something very posh there is the lovely Hotel Du Vin (very expensive) but they also have a great bar area and do amazing cocktails....

I hope you find somewhere you like......

  2. Well for great value for some tasty food, Donatello's in the Lanes is really good, especially if you've splashed out a bit much the night before: 1 - 3 Brighton Place

                                                  The Lanes

                                                  Brighton

                                                  East Sussex

                                                  BN1 1HJ

They do amazing icecreams for desert too!

Or I actually found a pub that does really good Roasts (Vegetarian option was especially good) near Nandos, also in the Lanes. In fact there are loads of really nice places in the Lanes if you just have a wander.

Also, there's a 24hr diner that always looks really good but I've never been to near the Old Steine.
