I'm from San Francisco and looking to go last minute to warmer waters to learn to surf. Going for 4 days. Looking for a cheap flight, clean bungalow, and beginner waves. Can anyone recommend where to surf, lodge and rent a board? Thanks!

  1. there are a grip of places to surf down there.  I recommend

looking for the cheapest air fair to a city down there.

like going to puerta villarta is more than zihwatenejo.

there are camps in both places, cost is usually a driving factor.  and the waters are so nice and warmmmmmm!

    peace

  2. One of my absolute FAVORITE places to surf in Mexico is Sayulita.  It's such a beautiful little surfer beach town in the middle of the jungle.  It's such a great experience going there.

Sidenote:: I surfed there for the first time on my honeymoon.  We just got on the public bus and told the driver "surfing?" and he said to get on the bus.  He drove us out into the jungle (you kinda cut across a penninsula) and all of a sudden told us to get off and walk that way, and he pointed out the door.  We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but we went around the corner and saw the most beautiful cove with an awesome peeling right crystal clear uncrowded wave.  Amazing.

Anyways, research Sayulita, see what you think.  Check out the link below.  Click on the Surf Camp link in the middle top of the page.  I've never done a surf camp here (or anywhere) but it really is a wonderful place to surf.

Otherwise, look for places in Baja.  Or even San Diego.  There's plenty of camps down here too.
