I don't need a super wide angle lens and I'm not looking to purchase anything over £150 - £200 so it will have to be a Tamrom or Sigma I would think but there are so many choices out there Im getting confused!!!

  1. Using third-party lenses on a decent DSLR is like using Yugo parts on a Lexus. Here...take your pick:

  2. I recently answered a question for a Canon user who was having problems with his Sigma lens.

In my answer I told him that although they are a lot more expensive than the Canon lenses, it's worth buying the Canon lens in the long run.

Remember, all other things being equal, the lens is the most important part of the camera.

  3. Check the link below for Canon lens, Sigma lens and Tamrom lens. And see people's reviews.

  4. super-wide angle?

On a 400D with its 1.6x crop even the supplied 18mm comes out like a more moderate 28mm.

To buy something wider than this you are looking at the canon 10-22 (well above your price) the Sigma 10-20 EX (a good lens) for around £300, or the tokina 11- whatever which I know knowing about.
