Question:

Can anyone recommend an eye doctor that specializes in Keratoconus?

I previously had a doctor but she was not able to fit me with a comfortable pair of hard lenses. The lenses that I tried created all kinds of uncomfortable situations for me that included fogginess, dryness, stinging of the eye and pain. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, nevertheless, if anyone can recommend a great doctor that specializes in this area, I am willing to travel. This has been a long battle and I am looking for a good recommendation from a serious person. Thanks.

  1. I've heard a lot of great things about Southeastern Eye Center in Greensboro, NC.  I know that's about a 90 minute drive, but I hear they're the best.

What is your prescription and age btw?

  2. Some people with Keratoconus can't wear contact lenses. I was told by my specialist that because I had too much oil in my body system, I wouldn't be able to wear them.

I was diagnosed at 16 and told to wait until I was 30 to have a corneal transplant. The operation was successful and even so, I still wear glasses  Best wishes.
