Can anyone recommend any good surfing spots in south america?

Question

I'm not looking for massive surf but some nice waves for beginner to intermediate level. I'm travelling round so any suggestions welcome.

The best place to surfing in the world is Chicama beach in Trujillo, Peru. Chicama has the longest waves in the world.

I went to Costa Rica two years ago and traveled all over. Two great spots that I saw were Puerta Viejo on the Caribbean side and Tamarindo on the Pacific side. Costa Rica is amazing. The people are so nice and Costa Rica is a safe place to travel. Here is a website to check out:
