Can anyone recommend any good universities in Melbourne that offer a health information technology degree?

I've done a bit of research and found a health info course at Deakin, which is a partner school with my current university in Canada so I could possibly transfer credits, but I'm hoping to get into a program that involves computer technology as well.

  1. I believe this is what you're looking for: http://www.latrobe.edu.au/publichealth/H... - La Trobe University in Melbourne's northern suburb of Bundoora has a Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, where you can specialise in IT.

"After a comprehensive grounding, students in their final year can concentrate on one or two specialised areas. One of these is Health Informatics where cutting-edge IT meets Health Information Management." - from the university's site.

Having studied at La Trobe myself, I can recommend it as a quality institution set in large areas of lovely native bushland.  But I recommend that you live on campus if you can, as the bushland means the campus is isolated and transport can be a problem.  The competition for car parking is fierce! You can spend a considerable time just driving around and around the campus, then have to walk a kilometre to get to your lecture.

  2. Try V.U.T.
