here is a link to a huge list of mangas and you can also look for mangas by category  so if you like a certain type like romance or action or comedy they will give you a list of the ones they got and you can read the manags there so find one that sounds good and start reading http://www.onemanga.com/directory/

also i recommend Akuma to Dolce it is a really good manga.

"Death note", which also has an excellent anime series.  I strongly suggest it to anyone.

If you're into buying manga you can try "Fruitbasket", since it's copyrighted and you can't get scanlations for it anymore.

Some Mangas by CLAMP crossover with each other which can get pretty interesting.  "Tsubasa Reservoir Chonicles" is the best for this, but "xxxholic" crosses over with Tsubasa RC a few times.
