As you know, there are various tribes and so-o-o many types of music in Africa.

A famous song "Malaika", would be sung by Miriam Makeba is the best,I think.

Not sure if this is the exact genre that you are looking for but for a french project I did the genre "le rai" which is basically algerian music. I really liked this song called Le Rai C'est Chic by Cheb Mami. It's partially in french but mostly arabic. It's a really cool dance kind of song and I think the language is cool also. Hope this helped.
