I have to do research for something I write (not in english), that concerns partly the ultra orthodox (haredi) jewish community. I did find some websites, but I was wondering whether there is one, that actually permits me to ask some questions about their culture, life etc. I don't want to bore this board with all those religious issues... Thanks, I appreciate it!

  1. Google is your friend.  Do your own homework

  2. askmoses.com is probably your best bet for asking questions and getting an Orthodox / halachic viewpoint.

However, the subset of Orthodox Judaism that calls itself "chareidi" or "ultra-Orthodox" have come out against the use of the internet, other than what is required in a business context.  So almost all of the information you get will be (by definition) from outside the group you're talking about.  So while you will get reasonably correct answers when it comes to religious dogma, if this is a sociological study, you will probably not get the most accurate view of the lifestyle.

Or are you using "ultra Orthodox" to mean anyone Orthodox who does not affiliate as "Modern" or "Chassidic"?

  3. - http://www.chabad.org

Here is a tip: Ultra Orthodox Jews dont like to be called that for one reason or another so in your paper dont use Ultra Orthodox as much but rather Hasidic or Haredi.

There are links on these sites to other websites, also.
