  3. Software: There's a series called "At The..." we have doctors and vets-it is a roleplay based game which involves some numbers but in a way that is part of hte game eg: money, dosage of medicine etc.

We looked at PC World and brought some games for 3-5 year olds...some of them are a bit difficult and need adult to sit with child for a while till they get the hang of them!

    Books:

-Story books and rhyme books-u can get them any book shop-this will help him to recognise numerals and start recognising number usage.

-PUzzle books such dot to dots and things in them.

Other ways to develop maths are to use it in everyday life:

-Ask him to help set the table (number value)

-Put numbers on cupboards and ask him to put things away in right cupboard/toybox.

-Bus numbers-can he find right bus/bus stop?

-Door number-made a model house and see if he knows what his door number is: recognising numbers that are important to them is one of hte Foundation Stage Aims.

Also talk to his nursery teacher and she knows him best and what levels he's at!

  4. yes, try timez attack at bigbrainz.com  My grandson and granddaughter ages 6 and 8 love it. Its like a real video game and you can download it free.

  5. Your local library probably has software you can try out before you buy.  My child enjoys JumpStart.
