I want a software that can allow you to see people and cars actually moving. Not the one like google earth that only has pictures and not actual movement. Also one that has almost any area, because in google earth it doesnt have my home ranch town in Mexico. So if you could provide a link and name of the program then i would be delighted.

  1. Sorry, chief, but NASA doesn't have anything like that.  You're talking about near realtime video.  Maybe the CIA or somebody has satellites with that kind of bandwidth, but all of NASA's satellites are currently busy with earth mapping or star watching or interacting with the Space Station.

  2. The smallest resolution that a satellite can 'see' is a 5m x 5m grid. All those shows and movies where you see movement in real-time are staged.

For Google Maps and Google Earth, the satellite photography only sees down to 5m squares.

If you want resolution better than squares of 5m, you need regular aircraft flights taken by the local mapping authority to produce the higher resolution shots where you can see your house and car.

I saw it on a TV documentary but I don't remember the name of the show. I'll bet it was on the Discovery Channel though...

They made a 'space invader' out of 5m square pieces of white fabric and laid them out in a 25m square grid.

Then a satellite took a picture of it.

  3. You've seen Men in Black too many times.

  4. Yeah, I want it too.

Unfortunately that technology is not available to the general public.

  5. The software comes with the security camera you buy.

There are several different companies making it. Try finding one is stores close to you. It should be the "remote monitoring" type.

Warning: you may run into problems with the law for spying, depends on whom and where you are trying to monitor!!

  6. Well NASA has a software that is like GoogleEarth, it's called NASA World Wind.

Just Google it and you'll find where to download it.

  7. google live local does that but i dont think you will find it because there trying to keep that a secret.

  8. That would be considered taking away ones privacy. Only Goverment has access to such programs

  9. First of all, to have that kind of survalence you wouldn't be able to see the sky - we'd have to fill it with satellites to have real-time movies of everywhere on Earth all the time.  The best you can get is stuff like Google Earth updating every few months at the most.  Second, no one wants people following them all the time.  Third, NASA doesn't do that stuff; that would be the military and fourth - they wouldn't make it available.

  10. lol, to tell you the truth, "there is none", there might be, pretty sure there are but it is top secrete and the govt dosnt want you to know. the only way you can probably accomplish you goals is to spend about 10mill on your own satalite.

and NASA dosnt have any satelite that can look at you, they dont need it since its not in their fields you observe you. they do however have other satelites that observe the earth but do not have super zoom and this is also off limits to people like up

  13. A part of the United States military, called the National Reconnaissance Office has satellites and other technology that can give real time video.  The usual tool used these days for tactical (real time) observation of a limited area is the Predator pilotless aircraft, or similar technologies, because this technique can loiter in a given area and send back pictures in real time from relatively low altitudes (e.g. 5 or 6 miles).

There are some laws of optics that pretty much preculde seeing people sized objects from earth orbit.  Among these are atmospheric turbulence causing refraction, the limitations of optical diffraction, and so on.

The loong term real time large area earth observation is done by weather satellites.  I know of no real time motion observation technology available to you and me.  TV, movies, and novels, however, are full of this kind of stuff.

By the way, Google Earth's best pictures are taken by medium altitude aircraft photography.  In the vicinity of my home they show objects about 1/2 to 1 foot in size (15 to 30 cm).

Now I've told you... watch your back!

  14. No such things exist for civilians.... unless you want to shell out a couple million to rent your own surveillance satellite!

  15. Not Available For 'Civilian' Use...!!

  16. NASA does not have anything like that. Neither does the CIA or anybody. It simply does not exist. People seem to assume that such a capability does exist and is being kept private, but that is just not true.

  17. NASA doesnt use any use any such program buddy

sure such a program cud be made by focussing the satellite to a point and then making it follow that point continuosly but for this the relative velocity of the satellite moving in space would have to be considered as the object that we are talkin about isn't moving that fast and thus the satellite wud b losing it eventually ,,, so it wud require a h**l lot of satellites which wud prove to be v.costly

  18. You're talking about" google earth" ........in about 10 years.
