  1. drink, drink oh yea DRINK!!!!!

  2. I lived in Galway. Shop steet is great at night. Galway is really small so you will meet lots of people to drink with and party with. It's a little cold now for the beach but you should go have a look at it. Galway people MAY still be swimming in it. It's what they do best. If you are looking for touristy things to do during the days, go to the Cliffs of Morhen, Aran Islands, Connamara or Kylmore Abby. But the nights in Galway are AMAZING. There's a place called the Cellar that I used to go to that had great live music (not irish music but live bands), there's also the Kings Head and The Skeff (A lot of older women go there to hook-up) that are good. But you won't have a problem. If you're a "smoker" go to Spanish Arch (an arch by the Bay) where EVERYONE lays on the grass and smokes at night.

HAVE FUN!! I MISS IT!! I'M JEALOUS!!

  3. If you can get a free day at all make sure to go to the Aran Islands, its an amazing place.  You can get the ferry to Inis Mor (the largest of the three Islands) from Galway or you can get a bus to Ros a' Mhil and get the ferry from there.  If not take a drive/bus out by Connemara to see the amazing rocky scenery.

If you can only stay in Galway city, go to some of the traditional music sessions, there are ones in the Crane Bar, Neachtains and Ti Ceoli.  Theres loads of theatre on in Galway too, not sure whats on at the moment.  Restraunts - Quay St is packed with good ones.  And of course while in Galway you have to take a walk on the prom, and kick the wall when you are finished!  Its a fantastic city, great atmosphere, I miss it so much.

  4. If you enjoy drinking and listening to live music, you're in for a treat! Galway is full of life at night. The Quays bar is a great place for music and has live bands most nights till 2am. Taffes bar is a small pub on Shop Street which has sessions on every afternoon and evening (local musicians get together and play traditional music). Other than live music there is the nightclub scene - Central Park, The Alley (recently changed its name though) and Cuba are a few I can think of offhand. Late night coffee can be enjoyed in Java's opposite Cental Park nightclub. It's a social event in itself.

Anyway, for more info, check out the Galway Advertiser (the local paper) at:

    or this website: http://new.galway.net/todo/

    Have fun!

  5. Great Spot for a few Pints! If you're into having a few drinks. I'd recommend a pub called The Quays.

  6. Eh......... drink. Lots of great bars in Galway.
