Can anyone recommended an awesome computer game?

I've never really gotten into computer games.. but they seem much more popular than I thought, so I'd like to give them a shot :)

This is going to be a long, long list.

Crysis, Team Fortress 2, Bioshock, Cave Story(free!), Call of Duty 4, World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo 2, Portal, Painkiller, Eternity's Child, Half-Life 2, Sam and Max Season 1 and a lot more that I can't think up of on the top of my head right now.

Some good upcoming games for PCs are Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Dawn of War 2, Crysis Warhead and a couple others.

Diablo series, you can try a free trial for world of warcraft which is surprisingly fun, Crysis is DEFINETELY a good choice if you have a computer that makes baby macbook airs wake up screaming...
