A pretty girl and a loving one,

A cold, cold drink, and a then another one.

Sounds like Dylan Thomas...when his doctor told him one more drink would kill him, Thomas went to the pub that night. Had the barkeep stack a pyramid of whiskey-filled shot glasses in front of him...by the fifth shot, Thomas was dead.
