Can anyone score 40 goals this season for Arsenal or Chelsea?

Fully fit Drogba & Anelka partnership should manage 40 between them for the season. Maybe Drogba at a push for 40 but he would have to stay in exceptional form.

I don't think Van Persie or Adebayor are clinical enough to manage 40, but again fully fit they should manage it between them.

Why not...... both arsenal and chelsea signed brilliant play-makers in the mould of samir nasri and deco respectively and i'm sure the strikers will benefit from that.

For arsenal.... imagine a line up in the midfield consisting of Fabregas, Nasri and a fit Rosicky.... Adebayor will get tons of chances to stick the ball into the back of the net... not to mention the Van Persie is quite adapted to creating chances for his team-mates... but what Adebayor lacks is that ruthlessness that top-class strikers like V.Nistelrooy, Shearer or even Inzaghi posses. If adebayor manage to do one better than last season, i don't see why he cannot surpass the 40 goals mark.

For Chelsea.... Anelka or Drogba will be backed by deco, lampard, ballack, J.Cole and co. If one can focus on the game instead of sulking and find the form that saw real madrid chasing after his signature couple of years back, why not? Drogba is already a proven goalscorer and only his fitness is sometimes at doubt but if Drogba can steer clear of injuries for the whole season, he may be carrying the golden boot trophy back home come may next year.

Deco may pass 15-20 goals so will Lampard but 40 is pushing it i don't think anyone will pass that this season i think this season we may only see 1 or 2 persons even passing 30

because it seems thus far that the majority of goals this season will come from midfield so i doubt anyone will hit 40

Im an Arsenal supporter and i can honestly say, No ... my heart would love to say Yes, but my head being more realistic says No.
