  1. Master the basics and watch better players. Remember that a ball does not have to be pocketed to have a "good shot". Good players will play defense. If you see someone playing and you have heard that this person is a good player. Then he fails to pocket a ball, try to figure out "why" he missed the ball. You can learn a lot from just watching and analyzing others. Good luck.

  2. The best tip anybody ever gave me was to stay down and follow through.

  3. if you have a tournament try playing to enjoy your match

  4. i play pool

    aim carefully

also try to make the ball be in a bad spot if you know you are going to miss to make if hard for the next person that shoots

    that is what i do

  5. -Practice makes perfect.

-Study the movement, motion of the cue ball and the effect it has on the rest of the balls.

-Position is key whether winning or losing. you can win a game with one turn alone or lose w/o having one at all....

-If there's no clear shot available, its best to think defensivley rather than risking a bank, jump, trick shot giving your opponent the win.

-Get familiar with the way you hold the cue stick and forget about people showing you how you should hold it or the proper position. whatever way you feel comfortable and stick with it.

-Never forget the fundamentals of the great game. if you're a beginner, keep it simple, as you advance and become more experienced, you'll explore different strategies moves ect

  6. nothing is better then practice...

top spin is easier to learn to use properly then backspin.. and usually a LOT safer

play for fun not money .. if you play for money be prepared to lose your bet or run fast!

When you learn all this, look me up

  8. POOL TIP OF THE DAY : most people swim. if you don't know how start in the shallow end where you can stand up or take some classes.

  9. Use chalk before every shot.  Make it part of your routine.

Have a pre-shot routine that includes:  chalking, posture, how you hold the cue, visulization of the shot, and visulation of the roll of the cue ball after the shot.

Play 3-Cushion Billiards to help you with your English and position play (good luck trying to find a table).

When people practice they ususally practice their shot making.  Try practicing your postion play.  That way you won't need to make to hard shots.

  10. The 8 ball goes in the middle of the rack.

The balls  have to be in a pattern. Solids, Stripes.

Don't hit the black ball because you'll lose.

Hit the ball that's near the hole.

Hit the balls that are lined across. Like if you were solids, a line of solid balls or two or more are near the  hole.

Hold the stick  with your index finger and thumb in the middle.

Don't forget your other hand has to hold the stick.

  11. Don't dive into the shallow end.

  12. The objective is to put balls in the pockets not how hard you can hit the balls. Hit the balls softer, and you will have better results.

  13. Play all your shots dead weight so they end up in the pocket or stay close ready for next time.

Only swing from your elbow.keep everything else still.

chalk your tip before every shot.
