    it was difficult until I realized the only way this problem made sense was if it was like a magic square, with each single digit number used once and only once, that really narrowed down the possibilities

    just remember to multiply BEFORE you add or subtract, and it works


  2. I take it you're supposed to fill in the blank squares with numbers, such that the rows and columns read as correct statements?

  3. Maybe... but it's a huge & tedious system of equations. One must solve:

    A+BC = 38

    D + EF = 51

    G - H + I = 11

    A - BG = -19

    B - E + H = -3

    CF + I = 59
