Not interested in all the big hotels and expensive afternoon teas etc, looking for a quaint little coffee / tea shop that does good cakes and that someone can recommend.

  1. I like the Haagen Daz cafe in Bayswater. Its right in front of you when you come out of the tube or Maison Blanche in High Street Kensington.

  2. Patisserie Valerie, Marylebone High street. Fantastic cakes.

  3. Patisserie Valerie is excellent both for cakes (they make fantastic Wedding cakes) and sandwiches.

  4. Try the French "Paul" bakery on Marylebone High Street. They do fantastic macaroons and I think they are a little less commercialised than Patisserie Valerie.

  5. Paul is my favourite place in Marylebone..

the food and bread are nice and they do nice cakes and more cosy than Patisserie Valerie.

Valerie used to be better but now not that good..
