I have been in London for the past 3 weeks and have been recommended that Brick Lane have some fine curry houses but also warned by my sister of the likes of preem and sheba who offer discount+wine+beer only to find that the prices are already sky rocket high and what else god knows... Can anyone recommend any good curry houses at Brick Lane.........

  1. I definetly would'nt agree with Bengal Village because it is very similar to the ripoff restaurants mentioned by Sophie (talking from experience!!!) I would strongly recommend Sweet & Spicy or Aladin Restaurant as both of these serve remarkable curry at the lowest prices compared to all the other restaurants who lure you in with extravagent offers only to see that they charge these back through the so called 'service charge' and above inflation alcohol prices.  Both Sweet & Spicey and the Aladin Restaurant serve real curry with true mouth-watering dishes and with one mouthful you can immediately taste the difference so give one of these a try if you are looking for good curry in Brick Lane.

  2. Try BengalVillage

    75 Brick Lane

    0207 366 4688

Curry gets contemporary in this tastefully designed, bright, modern restaurant offering the adventurous the opportunity to explore a culinary experience of sweet and savoury combinations.

or  a little further and there is Rice & Spice

    10 Hanbury Street

    0207 377 0037

Eat in or takeaway. The aroma from this small, unassuming cafe will stimulate your taste buds!

Hope this helps and enjoy your meal.

  3. Aladdin will be my bet.  The rest sell lousy curry... Aladdin use true spices which they say are imported directed from the indian sub-continent.  Most of the others use American and western spices which kill the real curry flavour, so go for Aladdin. You can even try Salma Curry House which is similar to Aladdin but slightly more expensive

  4. try indis in morter way they are quite good and its only a short walk away from brick lane

  5. Aladin... definetly Aladin... its the best!!!  I first went to Aladin 4 years ago with my parents since then going there with friends everytime we visit BrickLane.

I must say I tried many other restaurants in BrickLane over the last 4 years (because of the free drinks we were offered and the massive discounts....lol..) but they are no match to Aladin both in terms of the quality of the food and the price which believe it or not is much less then most retaurants in BrickLane even without any discounts... now thats something to cheer for.............. the whole atmosphere is very vibrant at the evenings yet relaxing and calm during the day so choose your mood... mention my name to the waiters please if you decide to visit...
