  1. Senor Frogs is close by the cruise terminal.  Great food and very exciting atmosphere!  Have fun!!

  2. Cafe Puerto Rico is really good and inexpensive.

  3. Ajili Mojili, it's not that near the terminal but I am sure that you will enjoy every meal.

“Ajili Mójili…, this place is highly recommended for its authentic Puerto Rican cuisine.”

    Fodors

“Well prepared Puerto Rican standard fare… Ajili Mójili serves local food in a rustic plantation setting… the house sauce works well with anything!”

    The New York Times

“Ricky Martins favorite dining spot in San Juan…”

    Parade Magazine

    sorry for my writting errors

  4. I would say go to Raices on Recinto Sur (just a block up from the cruise ship dock). It is classic Puerto Rican food.  Mid-range in price.  On that street there are loads of good restaurants- even Hard Rock Cafe.

For lower price, but good food- Mofongo's is right by the cruise ship pier- by the Sheraton.

The places on South Fortaleza are "famous" for their food.  If you are looking for PR food, it will not be authentic, more "inspired".  Parrot Club is Caribbean inspired PR food.  Very good.

Lots of people go to Barrachina on North Fortaleza.

There are so many really good restaurants in OSJ.  As you are walking around, check out the menus (they all post them outside the place) and find one that looks good and try it!

  5. sounds like you will de docking at the OSJ piers.

You will just be a block or so away from great restaurants:

Fortezela St for Parrot Club, Dragonfly, Tantra, Aquaviva

or head to the hotel El Convento to have tapas - El Picoteo there is also Baru

If you get chance check out one of the forts, the cathedral, san juan gate, paseo la princesa promenade.

see this map and zoom into Old San Juan
