What type of recruitment agency?  They all have their different specialities and are all based in different areas.  Try the Guardian jobs pages for the best options - they deal with all areas of employment on different days of the week.  Personally, I've used various secretarial recruitment agencies for media positions when I've been at a loose end, and can highly recommend Judy Fisher, and I can also recommend that Office Angels be avoided.  My sister worked in marketing and found most of her jobs through Michael Page, which is international.  But apart from that, I'm afraid I can't help.

Oh yes, and completely agree with the above - I have a couple of friends who have had very bad experiences with Adecco and Reed too.

I know of one agency to avoid like the plague and that's Adecco, they're notorious for not giving a fig about the workers and just wanting the commission from filling posts, have had bad experience with them and know of many others who feel the same!

Depends on the type of job you`re seeking.For a good mix,try Manpower,Stafforce,Adecco,Premier Work Support,Reed,Select Appointments,Plan Personnel.Then Hays,Capita,Morgan Hunt and Office Angels.These lot should cover all the bases for you.

Just saw what was said about Reed and Adecco now.Don`t have any experience of this,but please steer clear of them!
